After a hearty breakfast at IHOP, we headed to the airport. Everyone would be flying in today. Most of the planes needed their smoke racks attached and wired up. My plane was already in the hangar.
The Local news station was on hand in the morning doing the story. Fox News 4.

The smoke cannisters just need a shot of electricity to light off. To make that happen, they tapped into my Nav light circuit. When I want Smoke On, I just turn the Nav lights on. Simple.

The smoke rack mounted on my wingtips. Little D-Sub pins are epoxied into the rear trailing edge of my wingtip. When I'm ready to wire the smoke canisters up, I just crimp a male D-sub pin on the
wires and plug them into the wingtip D-sub recepticles. Simple but effective.

Lee's Summit has a very active EAA Chapter. I talked with their President of 22 years. They have three hangars, including this one. There is a good size meeting room in this hangar with aviation
memorabilia on the walls. Aviation celebrities like Sean Tucker and Tom Poberzny have been here. The propeller on that Cessna 150 spins in the wind and the entire plane swivels on the pedestal.
It was pretty windy today and at times the 150 was doing 360s up in the air.

Lynnette, Gina, Jerry and I went out to what we were told was the best barbeque in Kansas City. A place called L C's, not far from our Holiday Inn Express. We were told not to let the place's
appearance bother us. That's the restaurant, to the left, with the bars over the windows! It was in an industrial part of town.

But they were right about the food. It was great! (except for the cole slaw)
If you are ever in Kansas City, go to L.C.'s for barbeque. But don't let the place's appearance bother you.
