AirVenture 2012 - Showplanes
I enjoyed seeing this German Ju-52 up
close. The "Auntie Ju" was Germany's main transport plane in WWII,
the equivalent of our DC-3/C-47.
Even better, I got to see the Ju-52 fly.
The pilot was really yanking and
banking the Ju-52 at low level.
American Champion Aircraft's new Xtreme Decathlon featuring an 210-hp IO-390 engine.
To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Piper J-3 Cub, 75 or so Cubs flew in Sunday morning and were parked promenantly in the South 40.
This Cub has a three-cylinder radial
engine. We talked with the owner and were surprised to find that he
is based out of nearby Frederick, Maryland.
Bruce likes his J-3 Cub but he really likes this Super Chub!
Gotta like those Amphibs.
Now that is one nice polish job.
