Sun 'n Fun 2015 - Homebuilt Camping

Who can forget what happened at the 2011 Sun 'N Fun. Bruce was there with his Cub which miraculously survived without a scratch.

The plane I was most interested in this Sun 'N Fun was the Zenith CH-750 STOL plane. I'm thinking the reason for my interest is 1) The STOL capability. My RV does many things well but but short landings is not one of them. Sure I can get into a 2,000 foot runway not problem, but 1,500 or less is challenging for me. 2) There are numerous STOL planes available but the Zenith CH-750 is a kitplane and has some nice qualities including great visibility. Notice how the front windshield wraps around and down the panel - so you can see what's ahead of you even with the nose in the air. But all that said, I'm not giving up my RV, and I'm building the Triplane, so there is no CH-750 for the forseeable future. Maybe if I hit the lottery ...

The homebuilt camping tent which was a great place to relax in the shade and enjoy a cold beverage. You could see the airshow from here, the jets especially well. Dinner was also available and we ate all of them except one here. Bravo Zuly to Mary Jane and her volunteer crew.
