Oshkosh 2003 - Hughes H-1 Racer |
Every year at Oshkosh, there is one plane that steals the show -- the star attraction. This year, that plane was the exact reproduction of the Hughes H-1 Racer, built by Jim Wright. |
This plane was perfect. Immaculate. They say that the flush rivet was invented for this plane. | ||||||
It took approximately 7000 hours to
build the H-1 exact
reproduction.
Tragically, Jim Wright and the H-1
were lost on their flight back to Cottage Grove,
Oregon.
