October 21, 2008 - Various Stuff

I bolted the forward wing attach brackets to the fuse.  It wasn't easy getting a wrench on the bolt heads, I can tell you.

I finished the firewall sensor passthrough on the left ..

and right sides.

I pop-riveted the NACA air vents to the fuse.  I used 1/8" pop-rivets.  I was able to use the Main Squeeze to dimple the skin on the ends, but I had to use the pop-rivet gun dimple tool for the two center holes and the dimples aren't deep enough.  I filled the rivet centers with filler.  The rivets aren't as flush as I'd like.  This area gets painted and I'm hoping it won't look so bad when painted.

When Ray painted my panel, I forgot to have him paint the mapbox door.  I went ahead and countersunk the front of the door.  I'm going to have to pop-rivet it as well -- there's just no way to rivet it with the Main Squeeze or the Gun that I can see.
