London Eye

Lynnette and I waited for good weather before going on theLondon Eye, a big Ferris Wheel on the banks of the Thames.  Since it's unlikely that I'll get to fly my RV over London at 1000 feet, I figured the London Eye was the next best thing.  It's 443 feet high.

Crossing the footbridge over the Thames on the way to the Eye.

Going up.  I'm afraid of heights so I was a little nervous at this point, staying in the center of the gondola.

A good view of Westminster Palace.  We're only halfway up and we're already level with Big Ben.

That's Buckingham Palace top center.  Just underneath it is St. James Park.  Next are two big government buildings.  Downing Street, home of #10 Downing, is to the right of the building on the right.

Trafalgar Square is in the middle of the image.  You can see Nelson's monument poking up.  Scotland Yard is in that maze of buildings underneath it.

Still going up.

Just about on top.

Westminster Abbey is in the center of the image.

St. Paul's Cathedral, again, in the center of the image.
