March 7, 2008 - Panel Labels |
||||||
There are many different ways to label your panel. After reading everything there was to read on the subject in the Vans Air Force forums, I decided on the clear full sheet method. You make the labels on the computer using Microsoft Word. The trick is to outline each label with a border. I bought a 20-sheet pack of Avery full sheel labels from Amazon.com.
Then using the nice laser printer at
work, I printed out the labels on the fuel sheet. Cut them out,
remove the adhesive backing, and slap them on the
panel.

Of course, getting them on the panel in perfect alignment was not easy. I tried using tape as shown to assist in the alignment. But in the end I ended up just eyeballing it.
I used 16 point, Times New
Roman.

The technique I eventually ended up with was to remove the adhesive from the label, stick it to the tip of an Exacto knife, then press it to the panel. If the alignment was wrong, I'd peel it off, throw it away and use a new label. |

All done. | ||||||
