March 7, 2008 - HS Tip, Firewall Recess
The epoxy on the HS tip was solid as a rock so I put a piece of 60 grit on the sanding block and went at it. There was a lot of excess epoxy and I was concerned that it would take forever to sand it off. I needn't have worried. The 60 grit really takes it off quickly.

After initial sanding.

Looking from aft. I'm trying to get the HS and Elevator tips lined up.

My goal is to rivet the firewall recess this weekend. There are a bunch of things I have to do first, however. I had never dimpled the flange holes, so I did that.
