January 1, 2009 - Paint Cowl

Bruce and I headed over to the paintbooth with the minivan loaded up with RV-7 parts.

We prepped and primed the Cub cowl and fairings.

I had previously primed the RV-7 cowl, spinner, rudder and wing inspection parts -- they were ready for the color coat.

I wiped the parts down with a tack cloth -- they are ready for painting.

Bruce sprayed the Dakota Black color coat.

Looking good!  The paint filled the few imperfections that remained on the cowl after the 30+ hours of prep I had spent on it.

We went to lunch, then Bruce sprayed on the clear coat.

The spinner is absolutely perfect.
