August 29, 2005 - Aft Fuselage

Now comes the fun part!  First I clecoed the F-707 and F-708 bulkheads to the lower aft fuselage skin.
Then I rested the lower and middle J-stringers in the bulkhead slots.
Next I clecoed the left side skin to the bulkheads and bottom.
Right skin goes on next.  This is starting to look like something!
Looking good.
Another view.
Cleco on the F-706 bulkhead.  These three bulkheads were pretty flimsy by themselves.  It's amazing how strong and substantial the aft fuselage becomes when you put the skins, stringers and bulkheads together.  The matched, pre-drilled holes are simply fantastic.  They match perfectly, and the time-savings!  I can't even imagine having to drill all the holes from scratch.
From another angle.
