October 2, 2004 - Flying at Lovettesville, VA

Bruce's daughter Emily had a "glider flight day" out at Jan's. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't very good all day and no soaring took place. Bruce and I took the opportunity to fly the Baby Ace though. Neither of us ever got above 700 feet! It's a great little plane for low and slow.

The women having a ferocious game of scrabble.
The Potomac River, heading West. Harper's Ferry is just around that river bend up ahead.
The Potomac River, looking east. You can see how poor the weather was.
Ray and his -- large -- radio controlled plane. These planes are amazing. They have such a favorable power to weight ratio, that a skilled pilot can can literally hover it like a helicopter.
