December 12, 2006 - Drill Elevator Horns

I clamped the elevators in alignment with the HS.  Then I looked at the horns.  It was pretty obvious the right horn was a little more aft than the left.  The instructions say this is normal.  I also made out of hard wood and some thin, sheet aluminum a spacer that goes between the two horns.  I drilled a #40 hole in the spacer. 
With the elevator off, I drilled a #40 hole in the right (aft) horn according to the drawings.  Then I attached the elevators, clamped the pre-drilled spacer between them, and match-drilled the left horn.  Then I took the elevators off, again, and drilled them to #30 and then to the final #12 for an AN-3 bolt.
