While at the Stein booth at Oshkosh, when I mentioned I was using the LED strip for panel lighting, the guy working the booth recommended putting in a dimmer switch.  But if Stein sold one I didn't see it, so I ordered one from Vans.

The gasolator.

I ordered this stainless steel heat valve from EPM.AV.  The idea behind this is that if there is a fire in the engine compartment, the stainless steel won't melt like the aluminum heat valve would.  Unfortunately, they sent me the wrong type of heat valve.  I wanted the one with the handle on the cabin side, not the the engine side.  I had to send it back.

I had a couple of mistakenly-drilled holes on the panel that I wanted to fill.  For the first time I mixed up some epoxy and micro-balloons.  It seemed to work pretty well.  Sanded nice.

My flares just weren't making it with the borrowed flaring tool.  The solution from the VAF forums seemed to be the Parker Flaring Tool.  So I ordered one from Aircraft Tool Company (ATC) which had the best price.

Of course, as soon as it arrived I had to try it out.  The flares were a thing of beauty.  Absolutely perfect, every time.  I would have saved myself a lot of trouble if I had bought this tool from the start.  My friends, do yourself a favor and buy this tool before you start flaring.
