March 13, 2007 - Battery Box |

This single picture represents quite a bit of work! Per the
drawings, I drilled the eight 2 inch holes in the battery box to reduce
weight. The battery box is made of steel, though, so it took awhile
to accomplish. I did it using the drill press and a 2" hole cutter
bit from the local hardware store. Not hard, just time consuming.
Deburring the holes was time-consuming as well. The needle file was
the most effective tool for that job.
Next I drilled the side brackets to the battery box. I still have dimpling and countersinking to do. I'm worried about dulling my countersink bit on the steel. |
