July 31, 2005 - Citabria Flight

I was taking my friend Dave Frank for a Citabria ride this Sunday morning.  It was kind of misty and overcast but we decided to press ahead.  Dave took the following action shots of me opening the hangar doors, pulling out the Citabria and fueling her.  I decided to include the photos since this is what I have to go through every time I go flying.  Now the painful chore is captured for the historical record.
Right door open.  There are times when we won't fly, not because it's too windy to fly, but because it's too windy to open these big doors.
Left door open.
The mighty Citabria emerges from the dark cave.
We have an STC -- FAA approval -- to use auto gas in the Citabria.  I pour five gallons in each wing tank.
Yes, I do love fueling the plane.
The pilot in command's seat.
Doing part of my pre-flight inspection.
Checking the oil.  Looks good.  I don't know why I'm scowling.
The "panel".  The rectangular things on the right are the radio and transponder.
Passenger seat.
Taxiing down the runway.  No taxiways at Essex Skypark.
A bunch of geese giving me the "you're going flying in this crummy weather?" look.
This photo shows how misty it is.  That's Essex Skypark down below, where we just took off from.
Some nice scenery over on the Eastern Shore.
Some kind of tree/bush/plant farm.
We landed at Massey Airport and stretched our legs a little.
Down low over the cornfields.
This is looking forward out the right window.  Yeah, we're pretty low.
