June 10, 2007 - Mount Batt Contactor to Firewall |
During the week, Lynnette and Lucy helped me remove the wings and put the fuse back into the "shop" wing. The wings came off fairly easily.
I deburred the rear spar and bottom fuselage skin holes.
I screwed down the fuel vent lines for good. It was tough getting the nut started on the top Adel clamp.
I started drilling holes for the Battery Contactor, using the
reinforcing plate -- previously fashioned -- as a template.
All the stuff. | ||||||
Drilling complete. | ||||||
I countersunk all the holes.
How the reinforcing plate looks from behind the firewall.
Lynnette came down and bucked the rivets. It was easy riveting because we could both see what we were doing and had good access. Plus they were 3/32s.
The Battery contactor is on the firewall!
I'm going to have to make a second, smaller reinforcer plate for the
Starter contactor.
