Day 4 - Arches National Park

I had toured Arches two years ago via rental car so I knew what to look for from the air.   Approaching Arches from the south.

Four big arches are clearly evident in this picture.  Can you find them?

Can you find the arch in this picture?  (Hint:  look for the shadow)

It is the famous Delicate Arch.

Arches NP is more than just the arches though.  It has some really unusual and colorful geology.

There is only one road through it.

And the road ends.  You make a U-turn and go back the way you came.

Like most National Parks, the only way to see it is to get out and hike it.  Or from the air.  Like moi.

From the air, this section is like Monument Valley.  It's right at the entrance to the park.

Back to Moab.  Next:  southwest to Canyonlands NP.
